The day before

  1. Count your vents and returns, if you haven't already told us.
  2. Find the air handler or furnace and the filter location.
  3. Check parking, HOA and building access rules.
  4. Buy a replacement filter in the right size.

On the day

  • Move furniture and items away from vents where you can
  • Clear the closet, attic hatch or crawl-space entry
  • Move fragile items from nearby shelves
  • Keep pets in a safe, quiet room
  • Let us know if anyone at home has breathing concerns

Afterwards

Install a fresh filter and ask what we found, including anything we couldn't reach. Keep the photos and notes for your records. Then check your filter monthly for the first few months to find a schedule that suits your home.
