Dryer vent maintenance
Routine checks help you notice when airflow is slowing down. Learn what to look for at the laundry room and the outdoor vent, and when it is time to book a professional inspection.
Warning signs
Drying time
When loads that used to dry in one cycle now need two or more, restricted airflow is a common cause. Check the vent run and the outdoor termination for blockage.
Laundry room
A laundry room that stays warm after drying, or that holds moisture, can point to exhaust that is not leaving the home efficiently. Note how the space feels after a typical load.
Behind the appliance
Lint collecting behind or around the dryer, or along the flexible duct connection, suggests the vent path needs cleaning. Look at the connection points when the dryer is pulled out.
Outdoor vent
Check that the exterior hood opens freely when the dryer runs and closes when it stops. Debris, nests, or a stuck flap can block the exhaust path completely.
If you see any of these signs, book an appointment and we will confirm which service fits before any work begins.
